Kindergarten Graduate!

My Beau is a Kindergarten graduate! Rich was one lucky guy to get to take part in this special day with Dayne. I had to go on a field trip with my 5th grade students =( They started the special day with a picnic. It was suppose to be outside but it was raining so they did it in the classroom.

Next was a special program where the kids sang songs and read special messages.

Here is the part that Dayne had to say. He was pretty proud of himself!
It is hard to believe that he has one year of school all done. Only 12 more to go before collage. If life goes as fast as the last 6 have gone- high school graduation will be here before we know it!
We are so proud of you buddy! You learned so much this year. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for you!!

Monster Series Race #2

I hit another milestone this summer! I ran in a 1/2 marathon. That is 13.1 miles! Yeah for me! It is the 2nd race in the Team Ortho Monster Series I am doing. It took place in downtown Minneapolis and it was a BEAUTIFUL day for a run... and in BEAUTIFUL location! Running with over 2 thousand people is pretty great. It keeps you motivated to keep going.
Rich and the kids got to the race after I ran over the Stone Arch Bridge. Rich managed to snap a photo of me running through the water stop.Rich took a few shots of the kids waiting for me to finish the race. Dayne made me a sign.. Go Mommy Go! My babies are one of my biggest motivators.Thank goodness for iPods... Heading to the finish line! Yeah for me!!I did it! I crossed the finish line. 2 hrs 37 minutes. I was hoping for 2:30-- I will work on breaking that goal next year... cuz yup... I am going to do it again!I had a pretty great surprise at the finish. My friends Nicole and Cindy came to see me finish! It meant a lot to me to share this with friends!!A shot of me with my family... my biggest supporters. My running pals- Brenda and Deya! We did it!! Medal #2-- I will get 2 more this year ... 4 in all!!
This shot was taken at school the next day with my other running buddy Kristen. We are showing off our cool shirts! It was great to show the students at school our medals. Hopefully we are good examples to them and we inspire them to work hard!
It is quite an accomplishment to run a 1/2 marathon! I am very proud of myself and I am excited to keep running and to prepare for my next big race. I have a duathlon at the end of August.... 5 K run 18 mile bike- 5K run. It will be another beautiful race in Minneapolis sponsored by Team Ortho. I do have a few smaller races inbetween to keep me motivated and running!!

Lylah and her dance teacher.

We decided to take a little break from dance to try soccer in the fall. When we asked her if she wanted to do dance again she said... "no I wanna kick the soccer ball". So we will give that a try... heck she is only 3!

Before the party! Dayne is ready!!Dayne and his super hero buddies! Each super hero that attended got a cape and mask! The super hero's went to training camp--- well for a little while. It started to rain and the fun had to head inside! The super hero's got this certificate for completing the training camp! Here are a few photos of the cake- well brownie. Dayne doesn't like cake. I found some cool glitter gel to use and Rich helped to design the logo! See all the little super hero's around the cake-- we hid them around the yard and they super hero's had to rescue them. They kept them as a party gift along with the cape, mask, and some other treats! My birthday boy!!Blow out the candle Dayne!!!
Rich dressed up as a "bad guy" the kids needed to capture. He did a great job!
Even though it rained (thank goodness for onDemand super hero cartoon at the last second) it was a fun birthday party!!
